The Child Care Resource Research Unit focuses on early childhood care and education research and policy. The website highlights new research findings and provides ongoing updates on current research projects in early childhood care and education. The site contains a section on child care policy with provincial, federal, and international policy developments.
Canadian Child Care Federation (CCCF)
This is a national, non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of child care in Canada. It provides information and support to the Canadian child care community, and publishes a journal called Interaction four times a year. Many of the resource sheets provided to you during the Orientation Course come from the Canadian Child Care Federation.

This website provides research and education on work/life issues to promote individual and family well-being.
The National Centre for Child Care Inclusion
SpeciaLink provides personalized responses to specific questions, referrals to other organizations and sources of help, information and technical assistance to expand the quality and quantity of opportunities for inclusion in child care, recreation, education, and other community settings, to young children with special needs and their families.
Early Childhood Development Support Services
Early Childhood Development Support Services is dedicated to the advancement and professional training of all staff who work within Early Intervention focused programs. We continue to develop new and improve existing professional development to address the needs of workers in this region.
Kids Help Phone
Kids Help Phone is Canada only toll-free, national, bilingual, phone and web counselling, referral and information service for children and youth. Staffed by trained professional counsellors with a wide variety of backgrounds including social work, psychology, sociology, and child and youth services, Kids Help Phone helped Canadian kids in need from almost 3,000 communities more than 2.2 million times on the phone and online in 2008.
Alberta Children and Youth Services
Under the direction of the Minister, Alberta Children and Youth Services offers a range of programs and services for children and families. We support families and communities, helping them to provide nurturing, safe environments for their children. We strive to break the cycles of family violence, abuse and poverty that prevent some children from becoming strong, sound individuals.
Little Warriors is a national charitable organization, based in Canada, focusing on the education and prevention of child sexual abuse. Little Warriors teaches adults how to help prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. In addition to prevention education, Little Warriors also provides information about the prevalence and frequency of child sexual abuse and information about healing and support resources.
Kids Up Front
Across Canada, Kids Up Front creates fun and new experiences for kids, by forwarding your unused tickets. If you can’t use your tickets, donate them to us and we’ll make sure they reach the thousands of kids who could really benefit from them. Together, we’re helping to heal, bond and unite. Over 500,000 once-in-a-lifetime experiences distributed to kids across Canada!

AD/HD Information & Support
Provided by: The Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder
Provides information and support for parents, children, and adults, who are affected by and struggle with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Service offers:
- information and support through monthly support group meetings for parents and adults first Wednesday of every month 7 pm to 9 pm
- guest speakers series held throughout the year
- quarterly newsletter “The ADDvisor” sent to all members
- every 2 years an ADHD Resource Conference in March which hosts expert speakers on ADHD, as well as Exhibitors displaying information and services for the AD/HD population.
